  8. The following information applies to Microsoft MS-DOS 5.0 Upgrade, 6.0
  9. Upgrade.

  32. You can use drive B instead of drive A to install Microsoft MS-DOS 5
  33. Upgrade and MS-DOS 6 Upgrade. For this setup procedure, you need your
  34. MS-DOS 5 Upgrade or MS-DOS 6 Upgrade disks and one or two blank disks.
  35. The blank disk(s) you supply should be unformatted or newly formatted.

  37.    NOTE: If you are upgrading a version of MS-DOS earlier than version
  38.    3.0, you must use drive A to run Setup.

  40. TO INSTALL THE MS-DOS 5 UPGRADE OR MS-DOS 6 UPGRADE FROM DRIVE B

  43. 1. Start your computer with your current version of MS-DOS.
  44.  
  45. 2. If you are installing MS-DOS 5 Upgrade, insert Disk 1 from your MS-
  46.    DOS 5 Upgrade package in drive B. If you are installing MS-DOS 6
  47.    Upgrade, insert Disk 1 from your MS-DOS 6 Upgrade package in drive
  48.    B.

  50. 3. Type "b:setup" (without the quotation marks) and follow the
  51.    instructions on your screen.
  52.  
  53. 4. Setup asks you to insert the Uninstall disk(s), which is the blank
  54.    unformatted or newly formatted disk you supply. Insert this disk in
  55.    drive A.
  56.    
  57.    Setup cannot continue unless you insert a blank or newly formatted
  58.    disk in drive A. You must use drive A because Setup copies files
  59.    onto the Uninstall disk(s) that MS-DOS needs to start your computer
  60.    if you ever decide to restore your earlier version of MS-DOS.
